The Nike Air Max Zero was designed in 1985 with the intent of being released in place of the Air Max 1, in 1987. Though this particular shoe was never issued in the 1980s, the Nike Air Max moniker has become so famed that even its unreleased prototypes deserve their moment in the spotlight. Nike applies modern technology to this classic ‘80s concept, to construct the Air Max Zero Essential. This previously unreleased Air Max features a Max Air sole unit at the heel, a breathable premium textile upper, and a flex grooved outsole for Nike Free-like mobility.
