This year marked the return of the iconic adidas Stan Smith sneaker. To celebrate the re-release of this popular tennis shoe, adidas has given it the Consortium treatment by collaborating with renowned fashion designer and Y-3 head Yohji Yamamoto. The Stan Smith Y's maintain the simple and clean silhouette of the original Stan Smith sneaker, but incorporate an aesthetic directly from Yamamoto's Y's collection. The sneaker is equipped with a smooth white leather on the toe box and tongue, thick canvas material on its lateral and medial, and a contrast of grey suede accents along the eye-stay and heel tab. In true collaboration form, the Stan Smith Y's also feature "Y's" branding on the tongue, while the the signature adidas three sripes down the sneaker's lateral is replaced with zig-zag embroidery. The Stan Smith Y's will retail for $180 and will be available in the next few weeks at select Consortium retailers.
