Air Max Day 2023 has brought about an exciting comeback. Nike has reintroduced the iconic Air Max 1 '86 "Big Bubble," a true relic from the '80s that has been absent from shelves for almost four decades.

Originally released in 1986, the "Big Bubble" Air Max 1 boasted a unique feature in the form of a slightly wider window in the heel, featuring four visible circles rather than the usual three. While it immediately garnered widespread popularity, the shoe was prone to cracking and was soon quietly replaced with what we know as the original Air Max 1 in 1987.

But the wait is over. For the first time since its original release, the Air Max 1 '86 "Big Bubble" is now available for purchase. Nike has carefully reproduced the shoe using modern technology, including CT scans, to ensure complete accuracy. The result is a perfect replica that transports you back to the golden era of sneakers.

And what better way to test the shoes than by taking them to the extreme? Admittedly, we may have taken the ‘Big Air’ aspect of this release a bit too literally, putting the latest Air Max 1 through its paces at a local indoor skydiving facility.
